Alex became interested in photography while teaching English in Japan after graduating. Japan seemed so different and before long he'd bought a camera and started taking pictures every day.
When he returned to the UK, he knew he wanted to work as a photographer and enrolled on the NCTJ press photography course in Sheffield, before starting out as a trainee at the Derby Evening Telegraph. After gaining a distinction in his NCE exams Alex moved to the Bristol
Evening Post, before deciding to start travelling around Asia with his camera.
Since 2008 Alex has been based in London working as a freelance photographer for major organisations and small charities. He enjoys working on a variety of commissions, from portraits and PR, to events and performance. Alex relishes the pleasures and challenges that each shoot brings - whether it's photographing royalty or a homeless person; they all have an interesting story.
